At the start of the story the old man shuts up his favourite pigeon, rather than let it fly. As he sets off into the forest, Goodman Brown meets an Old Man, who has an uncanny resemblance to Brown. G.O.B. I really only like reading the synopsis, but that was the one that flashed every time I got on goodreads AND audible for that matter.
